Interviewer:  Did you tell me you worked with the women and helping them get the right to vote?

Ms. Pennington:  No I didn’t work with them, I just hauled them to the polls to vote.

Interviewer:  Oh, I see. 

Ms. Pennington:  We had a two-horse buggy and I’d haul people to the polls—at Faubush—and oh there was lots of women believed in women a-voting.  And there’s lots that went without me hauling, and, but I hauled just as many as I could . . .

Interviewer:  Did you make a day of it? 

Ms. Pennington:  Yes, I worked all day.  I got everybody there in time, I think . . .
